Wind-Resistant Roller Window Screen
Our wind-resistant roller window screen is a robust, made-to-measure retractable flyscreen designed for domestic windows. The grey fibreglass insect mesh pulls smoothly down across the opening when required and retracts neatly into the top cartridge when not in use.
Anti-wind brush strips help keep the mesh securely within the side tracks, making this our most wind-resistant roller window screen and a practical choice for larger windows and more exposed locations.

The roller window can be operated using either a handle or chain. A special bottom bar/handle option is also available where the screen is fitted externally but needs to be operated from inside.
For taller windows, a rod and hook may be required to reach the handle rail.
Physical screening can help reduce flies entering the home while still allowing windows to be opened for ventilation. The British Pest Control Association recommends fitting fly screens as one of the measures that can help prevent flies gaining access indoors.

Operation Options
Handle Operated
The standard handle allows the screen to be pulled down and positioned across the window when required.
Chain Operated
Chain operation can be useful where reaching the handle rail would be difficult.

Special Bottom Bar / Handle
For externally fitted screens that need to be operated from inside the property, a special bottom bar/handle option is available. Please specify this requirement when ordering.

Before You Order
Decide how the screen will be fitted before taking your measurements, as the required dimensions differ depending on the fitting position.
Check there is sufficient flat fixing surface for the top cartridge and side tracks.
If the screen will be fitted externally but operated from inside, please specify this when ordering so the correct bottom bar/handle arrangement can be supplied.
All roller window screens are manufactured to the measurements you provide, with a manufacturing tolerance of ±2mm. We do not make any further allowances or deductions, so please measure carefully and double-check your dimensions before ordering.
Measuring Your Roller Window Screen
First measure the window aperture:
- Measure the width in three places — top, middle and bottom — and use the smallest measurement.
- Measure the height in three places — left, centre and right — and use the smallest measurement.
- Include any bevelled edges in your measurements where applicable.
- Always provide measurements in millimetres (mm) as width × height.
Reveal Fit / Face Fit Within the Reveal
Deduct 2mm from both the smallest width and smallest height measurements.
Width = smallest aperture width – 2mm
Height = smallest aperture height – 2mm
Face Fit Outside the Reveal
Add 80mm to the smallest aperture width and 69mm to the smallest aperture height.
Width = smallest aperture width + 80mm
Height = smallest aperture height + 69mm
