Magnetic Insect Screen
Our magnetic insect screen is a made-to-measure window screen designed for most outward-opening windows. The mesh is held in place magnetically, allowing you to peel it back when you need to open or close the window without removing the whole screen.
The white PVC frame fixes neatly within the window frame using self-adhesive fixing pads, so no drilling is required. Optional additional frame sections can be added where needed to provide clearance around protruding window handles.
Why Choose This Magnetic Insect Screen?
Each screen is made to your measurements for a neat, precise fit and is designed to provide insect protection while still allowing airflow through the window.
The low-profile frame sits discreetly within the window opening, while the magnetic design makes everyday access simple. This makes it a practical option where you want to continue using the window normally without having to remove the screen each time.
Mesh Options
Standard Insect Mesh
Our standard grey insect mesh has an 18×16 weave and is suitable for helping keep out common flying insects while still allowing airflow and visibility.
Midge Mesh
For smaller insects, we also offer a finer 20×30 midge mesh. This tighter weave provides additional protection where midges or other small flying insects may be more of a problem.
The British Pest Control Association also recommends fitting fly screens as part of helping to reduce flies entering the home.
Read the BPCA guidance on fly prevention.
Maximum Size
The maximum size for this magnetic insect screen is 1200mm × 1200mm.
We have tested larger screens but found them more difficult to handle and install effectively. If your window is larger than this, please contact us and we can advise whether another type of flyscreen may be more suitable.
Before You Order
Please ensure there is at least 20mm of flat surface around the window for the screen to fix to.
You should also check how far any window handles project from the fixing surface, as additional frame sections may be required to provide sufficient clearance.
All screens are manufactured to the measurements you supply, with a manufacturing tolerance of ±2mm. We do not make allowances or deductions on your behalf, so please measure carefully and double-check your dimensions before ordering.

Measuring Your Magnetic Insect Screen
Step 1: Measure the Width
Measure the window opening at the top, middle and bottom.
Use the smallest measurement.
Step 2: Measure the Height
Measure the window opening at the left, centre and right.
Use the smallest measurement.
Step 3: Allow for the Frame
You will need 20mm of flat surface around the window for the frame to fix to.
Add 40mm to both the width and height:
Width = smallest aperture width + 40mm
Height = smallest aperture height + 40mm
Allowing for Window Handles
Measure how far your window handle projects from the flat fixing surface:
- Up to 22mm → standard frame, no extra sections required
- 23–35mm → add one extra frame section
- 36–48mm → add two extra frame sections
If you are unsure which option you need, please contact us before ordering.
Please read our Magnetic Insect Screen measuring instructions carefully before placing your order.
