Features
Transform your living or working environment with our premium aluminium hinged door screen DIY kit, designed with precision to enhance both aesthetics and functionality in a variety of settings.
Each kit features a robust midbar that not only reinforces the structural integrity of the door but also introduces an additional layer of protection against the elements and daily usage. Paired with a protective kick plate, this combination enhances durability, ensuring that your door screen remains as stunning as the day you installed it, even after years of regular use.
What distinguishes our door screen is its remarkable versatility. It easily face-fits onto existing door frames, providing a sleek and polished look, or can be mounted directly on the wall outside the reveal, giving you the freedom to choose the installation method that best matches your space.
To ensure a perfect fit, we’ve included comprehensive measuring instructions that guide you through every step. You’ll find clear details on how to measure for both face and reveal fittings, making it easy for you to find the ideal dimensions for your specific doorway.
Measuring for Face Fitting
This door screen is designed to face fit on to your existing door frame. It is not supplied with a sub frame.
Width: Measure the width of the door aperture, including any bevelled edges on the door frame. Then, add a minimum of 10mm of flat surface on each side for the door screen to rest against. This means you should measure: Aperture width + 20mm.
Height: Measure the height of the door aperture, including any bevelled edges on the door frame. Add a minimum of 10mm of flat surface for the door screen to rest against. This means you should measure: Aperture height + 10mm.
If there is sufficient space on your door frame, you can add 43mm to each side to allow the screen to fully overlap the frame. However, ensure that you have enough space for the hinges and the magnetic catch (details below).
Additionally
Ensure there is an extra 17mm of flat surface for the hinges and 13mm for the magnetic catch. Do not include these measurements in the dimensions you provide for manufacturing.
If your door handle extends more than 10mm beyond the flat surface, you will need to construct a sub-frame to position the screen away from the door handle when closed.
Each door screen comes with two handles, one for each side, which extend 22mm from the face of the door screen.
