Plisse Door Screen
Our Plisse door screen is a side-mounted retractable pleated screen designed for domestic doorways. The black pleated mesh pulls smoothly across the opening when needed and retracts neatly to the side when not in use.
The screen has white powder-coated aluminium profiles, a magnetic closing bar and a low-profile 7mm bottom rail for easier access through the doorway. It is supplied as a DIY kit and is suitable for reveal fitting only.
Why Choose This Pleated Door Screen?
The retractable design makes the Plisse door screen a practical option for everyday home use, providing insect screening when required without permanently covering the doorway.
If your existing door opens outwards, the screen should be fitted on the inside. If your door opens inwards, the screen should be fitted on the outside.
For wider double doors, two kits can be fitted side by side to cover openings up to 2000mm wide.
Physical screening can also help reduce flies entering the home. The British Pest Control Association recommends measures such as fitting fly screens to help prevent flies gaining access indoors.

Kit Sizes
The maximum width of each Plisse door screen kit is 1000mm.
Available kit heights are:
- 1990mm
- 2090mm
- 2290mm
The kit must be larger than your measured doorway but still within the permitted reduction range, so it is important to select the correct size before ordering.
Before You Order
This product is supplied as a DIY kit and must be cut and assembled on site.
Please check that your doorway is suitable for reveal fitting and that there is enough space for the frame and tracks.
The low-profile 7mm bottom rail helps keep the threshold as unobtrusive as possible, making the screen more practical for frequently used domestic doorways.
Each kit can only be reduced by a set amount during assembly. DIY kits cannot be returned once they have been cut or assembled, so please measure carefully and double-check your chosen kit size before ordering.
Measuring Your Plisse Door Screen
Measure the width and height of the door aperture in three places and use the smallest measurement for each.
Always measure in millimetres (mm) and include any bevelled edges in your measurements.
Width = smallest aperture width
Height = smallest aperture height
The kit you choose must be larger than your aperture measurements while remaining within the permitted reduction range.
Important Kit Reductions
- 1990mm kit → can be reduced by up to 100mm, to a minimum height of 1890mm
- 2090mm kit → can be reduced by up to 100mm, to a minimum height of 1990mm
- 2290mm kit → can be reduced by up to 200mm, to a minimum height of 2090mm
The maximum kit width is 1000mm and can be reduced during assembly to suit the width of your opening. Two kits can be fitted side by side for wider doorways up to 2000mm wide.
